We aim to offer free Digital and Innovative computing skill sets to primary school children, youth and women from poor, marginalized and economically disadvantaged communities in Kenya.
Our digital literacy program aims to equip women and youth with adequate basic knowledge in technology and how to use it to enrich their lives and develop their communities.
This situation has been made worse by the closure of schools due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation as the government tries to cope with disrupted learning. Help from partners to enable learners access the curriculum and learning material through online platforms has not realized complete coverage.
Moreover, 14% of the schools in Nairobi are public schools which largely cater for learners from poor households which don’t have access to learning devices nor internet connectivity that would make the same possible.
While the government of Kenya through ministry of education provided virtual learning opportunities through access to digital content and virtual classroom log in, these require digital equipment like smart phones to access. The children therefore miss out completely on the learning opportunities.

With a population of over 2,000,000 people, and an average household of 2.9 persons per household, Nairobi has a healthy number of both public, private and non-formal schools to provide for this large population.
Public schools in Kenya are largely defined as schools that are supported directly by the government and provide free primary and secondary education.
With the majority of learners within Nairobi in primary schools, the government is hard pressed to provide adequate resources to meet the demand.
