Founded in 2010 by H.E John Agyekum Kufuor, President of the Republic of Ghana (2001-2009), the John A. Kufuor Foundation (JAKF) is an independent and nonprofit institution dedicated to the promotion and sustainability of Ghana and Africa’s development. It is inspired by the founder’s passion for practical and sustainable development and aims at advancing effective leadership, good governance and socioeconomic development.
In furtherance of its objectives, JAKF seeks collaboration and strategic partnerships with public and private institutions, civil society organizations, as well as international development partners in program initiation and implementation.
In February 2022 , The JAK Foundation and Rangi Yetu announced the exciting news of their newly officiated partnership that is geared to maximize on program impact, scalability of community projects and bring JAK into East Africa by having their EA headquarters housed at Rangi Yetu HQ in Nairobi.
